He married Veronika Joks in Blumenthal on the 22nd of October 1910. She was 5 months pregant. He was working in a dockyard there. He was born in the village Lubnia in the Brusy parish near Chojnice in the province Bydgoszcz in Poland (then part of West Prussia) on the 28th of April 1889. His parents were Johann and Anna Kaszubowski. (B3)
West Prussia was then German, but most of the inhabitants were Polish.

After the military service he moved to Duisburg-Ruhrort (1920). Initially he lived in Landwehrstrasse 92. In 1926 he moved to number 91 in the same street. From 1933 to 1939 he lived in the Elisenstrasse 21 and from 1939 to 1942 in der Spatenstrasse 21. He probably was not married - no wife is recorded on the "Meldekarte". (Meldekarte, Duisburg)
In 1996 I saw a copy of Peter Kaszubowski's birth record in the books of the Catholic church in Brusy (German: Bruß). There was a note against the record, that he married an Anna Zachmann in Leutershausen in Baden on the 25.4.1942. I obtained a copy of the civic wedding record. The bride was Anna Zachmann nee Brand from Leutershausen. Peter Kaszubowski address is given as Duisburg-Laar, Spatenstraße 13. His occupation is recorded as marine machinist (German: Schiffsmaschinist). The date of the wedding is actually the 18th of April 1942. He died in Heidelberg on the 28th of July 1974 and his wife died in Leutershausen on the 14th of December 1975.
Peter Kaszubowski's stepdaughter Amanda Zielbauer nee Zachmann wrote to me in 1997. She wrote that Peter Kaszubowski looked after her and her mother well during difficult times. She said that he and Anna Kaszubowski had no children. She said that he owned a ship named Dünkirchen with which he commuted on the Rhine River. She had travelled on it herself. It sank during the Second World War. She said that her stepfather had told her that he was a widower before marrying Anna Zachmann.
