ALBERT JUNG Albert Jung, son of Karl Jung and Wilhelmina Sauer Jung, was born at Wenigenarich, Saxony Province, Germany on November 11, 1879. He departed from this life while in the St. Mary's Hospital at Manhattan, KS, on February 9, 1948. He had reached the age of 68 years, 2 months, and 29 days. For at least four years he had suffered from diabetes and at the last, complications developed. Mr. Jung took his schooling in Germany and also joined the Evangelical Lutheran Church there. In 1896, he came to Westmoreland, Ks. He lived there with his sister, Mrs. Anna Zabel, for one year. Then he moved to the Wells Creek community of Kaw Township, Wabaunsee County, KS, where he farmed. On March 2, 1905, he and Miss Margaret Pageler were united in marriage by the Rev John Abele of Immanuel Evangelical Church where they were members. Mr. and Mrs. Jung lived in the Wells Creek Community until failing health forced Mr. Jung to give up farming. In December of 1947, they moved to Wamego, Ks. He was a naturalized citizen of this country. In 1910, Mrs. Jung's parents came to this country from Germany and made their home with him and his wife unitl the time of their death. Mrs. Jung's mother also lived in their home for eight years. The kindness he showed to these parents was a reflection of the love and honor he had for the. Mrs. Jung was the last surviving member of his parents family. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one b rother and three sisters. Also, an infant son preceded him in death. Those who mourn his passing are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Jung, his daughter and son-in-=law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Herren of Wamego; two brother-in-laws, Charles Zable, Of Westmoreland, and Ernest Hohler, Sr. of Glenwood, IL; one niece, Mrs. Mary Krouse of Westmoreland; two nephews, John Label of Westmore land, and Ernest Kohler, Jr. of Chicago, IL. Other nieces and nephews on his wife';s side, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention were saddened to hear of his illness and his passing. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Vernon Kurz on February 12 at the Stewart Funeral home in Walmego and at Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wells Creek, Belvue, Ks. Interment was in the Wamego cemetery.
