MILTON, Vt. - Edmund T. Roell, 83, of Milton, Vt., formally of Hicksville, N.Y. died Monday, May 17, 2010 at the home of his daughter Maureen Miller, surrounded by his loving family.
Edmund was born on August 10, 1926 in New York City, the son of Peter and Ann (Campbell) Roell.
He served in the US Navy aboard the Merchants Ship Eliu Yale as an Armed Guard. Following his service during WWII he worked asa Trackman for 32 years with the NY City Transit Authority.
In Additionto his wife Lillian, Edmund is survived by his children Thomas Roell of GA, Gerald (Tina) Roell of Plymouth, Fla., Kathleen (Michael) Curcio of NY, Maureen (Robert) Miller of Milton, Vt. and Edmund Roell of NY, by nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, his sister Alyce Dannibale and brother Peter Roell and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother William. Funeralservices will be held on Thursday May 20, 2010 at 11 am in St. Ignatuis Loyola Catholic Church on Broadway in Hicksville, NY.
Burial will follow at 1pmin the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale.
