Notizen zu dieser Person
Richard's birth date comes from his military records, documented in "Maryland in the World War 1917-1919. Military and Naval Service Records In Two Volumes." He was inducted on August 23, 1918 and served until January 10, 1919 when he received an honorable discharge. According to the 1930 US Census (enumerated April 5, 1930) Richard's father was born in Australia and his mother was born in Germany. The Laur's lived at 625 N. Fulton Avenue, which they owned. Richard indicates that he was 21 years old at the time of his marriage. Assuming the marriage year is correct (1918), this would further verify his birth date in 1896. There is a Richard Laur included in the Social Security Death Index, born September 28, 1899; died August 1980; he was born and died in California. This is not "our" Richard Laur, as proven by his military and Census records.
