HARTENSTEIN, Richard Glen "Dick," 79, of Bethlehem died Friday, December 16, 2011 in Liza's Place, Wheeling.
He was born January 14, 1932, son of the late Howard and Vancie Wilson Hartenstein.
Dick was a retired Central Office foreman for Bell Atlantic "Ma Bell" with over 35 years of service. He was a Korean WarVeteran with the U.S. Navy.
Dick was a member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 1949 graduate of Wheeling High School, the Telephone Pioneers ofAmerica, member of the Scottish Rite, member of the El Tor Grotto, Past chairman of Credit Committee of Whetelco andwas very active with the Little League of Bethlehem Program where he was a past coach.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Hartenstein; three sisters, Betty andVirginia Mumley and Judy Redmond.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Lois I. Marple Hartenstein; a daughter, Pam Trabert and husband, Tim ofWheeling; a son, Rick Hartenstein and wife, Donna of Leonardtown, Md.; sisters, Jackie Henry of Connellsville, Pa. andRuth Hodgkiss of Massillon, Ohio; sisters-inlaw, Betty Hartenstein of Martins Ferry, Ohio and Mineta Prettyman andhusband, Al of Wheeling; five grandchildren, Hilary, Emily and Melanie all of Leonardtown, Md., Tony and Marlo, both ofWheeling, 22 nieces and nephews and many special neighbors.
Friends will be received on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St.,304-242-2311 where services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Margie Carr and Mr. TimOrr officiating.
Interment will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military gravesideservices.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liza's Place, 308 Mt. St. Joseph Road, Wheeling, WV 26003 orlocal charity of donors choice.
