Mathias and Elizabeth(Buch)Emmerich are my 3rd great-grand parents. They left Mayen in 1867 with three sons. William,Philip and John. They went through Antwerpt and arrived in New York City August 30,1867. They went from New York to the state of Illinois where they had a daughter Katherine(Katie) in 1868. From there they traveled to Omaha,Nebraska where they had another daughter Ann. Ann was born in 1870. From there they traveled to Memphis,Tennessee. They had two children there. Margaret and Peter. Margaret was born in 1873 and Peter was born 1875. Then from there they traveled to St.Louis,Missouri and they had thier last child. Elizabeth was born there in 1879. Mathias,William,Philip and John all worked as Stone Masons at one point and time. William married Louise Ott. They had six kids. Louise,John,Caroline,Annie,Joseph and then finally Albert(Uncle Red). John is my great grand-father and he married Grace Hazel Woods. They had only two sons. John and James. John is my grand-father and he married Helen Mary Asbury. They had 9 children. And the last son born to them is my father. Louise(daughter of William and Louise) married John Clavin and they had three sons. One was shot and killed by St.Louis police while robbing a store back in 1940. Caroline married Robert Reilly and they had 4 daughters and one is still with us today. Annie married John Kreitner and they had 3 sons. Joe married Mable Lee Brown and I do beleave they had 3 or 4 kids. And Uncle Albert(Red) married a girl by the name of Anna and they never had kids. William's brother Philip married and divorced but never had kids. John disappeared in the late 1890's. Katherine married several times and had one son. Ann married and had a daughter. Margaret married and never had kids. Peter married and had 4 daughters. Elizabeth married and had one daughter. Well I need to run for now. I hope this gives you alittle more info on the family here. When Mathias came to the United States in 1867. There was two other people from the same town as Mayen. These do not include his wife and three sons. The name Judoh Roeser is on the ships manafest and a lady also. Roeser is Mathias's mother's maiden name. But the name Judoh never shows up in American records. So I figure Mathias came along with his cousin from the Roeser family. I have letters from 1920's and 1930's from Peter Emmerich here to the Emmerich family in Essen Germany. They owned a winery.
