In the 1851 Roxborough Census Eliza (S) and William Boyce (W) age 75 were listed with Samuel Hough, his wife, Agnes (Boyce) Hough m 1841 In 1846 William Boyce sold 62 1/2 acres of land, part of Lot 34 Con 2 Rox, Twp to Samuel Hough In 1846 William Boyce sold 50 acres " to Charles Hough whose wife was Rachel (Boyce) Hough m c1845 In his will dated 17 June,1853, William Boyce devised his farm E ©ルa Lot 34 Con 2 (Roxborough Twp) being 37©ルa acres to his daughter Eliza and she was to pay certain amounts to his daughters Agnes, Rachel & Margaret & his sons John & George. All were surnamed Boyce. The will was Probated 17 Dec 1858. The land transfer was registered 8 June 1859 signed by Eliza Canham 1861 Roxborough census age 51 (next b'day) as Elizabeth Canham Eliza Boyce, single, age 50(sic) (more likely 40) (next b'day) in 1851 census, inherited 37 1/2 acres Pt E1/2 Lot 34 Con 2 Roxborough from William Boyce, (LRO#532), her father who was b 1776 in Ireland. In William's will, daughter Eliza Boyce was designated Executor and bequests were made to daughters Agnes Boyce, Rachel Boyce (even though the two had been married for years) and Margaret (on whom we have no more information) Boyce and sons John & George. 7th March 1866 Eliza Cannum granted a lifetime lease of 37 1/2 acres Pt. E1/2 Lot 34 Con 2 Roxborough to George Cannum, her husband. The document wasn't registered until 1878. LRO#2338 likely after she died as then he was to get 'quiet possession' of the land In the same document George agreed to not "abuse her or threaten to abuse her whether in anger or toxication" She "is afraid for her life" Signed with "X" by both Eliza & George. Witnesses were John Hough Esq. & John Boyce It is likely that Eliza, single, married George, widower, in1853. As George's 1st wife died 10 Jan 1852 leaving him with 5 children ages from 12 to 1 it's likely that he would remarry as soon as possible.
