BIOGRAPHY: **Taken from "Our Family" compiled in 1981 by Carroll BAIRD (neeRUMPEL)** In 1906 Thirza was introduced to a new country and to her life with horses. She was the eldest of a family with two
girls and soon became her father's 'right hand man'. Not only could she ride horses and handle cattle at a very early age, she could drive a team of six horses to workin the fields at age 14. After J
ohn's death in 1954 she devoted her free time to showing horses, participating in the Regina Winter Fair, summer exhibitions, plus many local shows. Her first and favourite show horses were two Palomi
nos, Tango Time and Golden Melody. She has had many ribbons and trophies awarded to her, the most recent was All Round High Point Pioneer Trophyfor 1980 in the Balgonie Riding Club. The love of horses
is a part of her life as she still owns and rides them today.
