He was a master watch and clock repairman and repaired watches and clocks for friends and relatives in both San Antonio and Shelby. He was the oldest member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby. His hobbies included raising pheasants, fishing, and solving the word puzzles in the newspaper. He was an avid Cleveland Indian's fan and the proud owner of one of the first Harley Davidson motorcycles with a sidecar.
