Notizen zu dieser Person
Robert Sandfort writes: Johann Gerhard Sandfort was 15 years old in 1705, and although ordinaily, as the youngest son, he would have become owner and operator of the Sandfort farm, he didn t, apparently because he was too young. No doubt he was compensated in some way, since this was customary. He continued to live on the farm, even after he was married, up to the time of his death in 1738. But because if the untimely death of his father and because of the decision of the guardians to allow the husband of his older sister to take ownership of the farm, he and his descendents would from that time on become landless peasants.
Robert Sandfort writes: The available records by which the aurthor s branc of the Sandfort family can be traced are far more limited after they no longer were in the direct line to inherit the Sandfort farm. This isn t surprising, because they became heuermaenner , or tenant farmers, who as a class had few possessions and little money and owned no land that could be taxed.
Johann Gerhard Sandfort, son of Gehrt Sandfort and Anna Thesssfeld, whose older sister, Anna Adelheid, took over the Sandfort farm about eight years after Gehrt Sandfort was murdered, lived his entire live on the Sandfort farm as a tenant farmer.
