The Will of In the name of God Amen. The eight Day of January 1697. Samuel Abell I Samuel Abell of St. Mary's County in the province of Maryland _____ being in good & perfect memory thanksbe to God, & calling to rememberance the uncertain state estate of this transitory life & that all flesh must yeild unto death, when it should please God to call, do make constitute, ordain & declare this my last will & Testament . In manner & form following. Revoaking and annulling by these presents, all & every testament and testaments, will & wills, heretofore by me made & declared either by word, or in writing & this is to be taken only for my last will & testament & none other, and first being penitent & sorry from the bottom of my heart for my sins past most humbly doing forgive us for the same. I give an commit my soul to Almighty God my Saviour & Redeemer & my body to be buried in such place, where it shall please my Executrix herafter named to appoint, and now for the settling of my temporal estate & such goods chattles and debts as it hath pleased God far above my deserts to bestow, upon me. I doe ordain give & dispose the same in manner & form following that is to say first I will that all the debts & duties as I owe in right or conscience, to my manner of person or persons whatsoever shall be welland truly contented & paid or ordained to be paid, within convenient time after my decease, by my Executrix hereafter named. I Term the tract of land of mine whereon I now live being on mylords manner, being one hundred & twenty acres , all the land belonging to the tract on the other side of Napkin branch , I give & bequeath unto my son John Abell during his life & my will&desire is that my sd. Son Jn. Abell, shall be at age at the year of eighteen . Item the remaining part of my said tract being on this side Napkin whereon my plantation is seated. I giveand bequeath to my son Samuel Abell, during his life & my will and desire is that my sd. Son Samuel Abell shall be at age at the year of eighteen. my will and desire is that my loving wife Anne Abell shall live on the sd. Plantation on my lords manner during her life if in case my said sons John & Samuel Abell doe live as long as she does. Item that the heifer called by the name of John's heifer & her increase. I give & Bequeath unto my said son Jn. Abell, & also the heifer, called by the name of Sams heifer & her increase , I give and bequeath unto my sonSamuel Abell. Item all the remaining part of my estate both real & personall, I give & bequeath, unto my loving wife Anne Abell & her heirs forever.
