Nachrichten: Andreas was baptized on 7 Dec 1853 in Haselberg # 20. His Godparents were Andreas Kutschenreiter, a glass-blower in Haselberg and Walberga Schwarz, an inhabitant in Haselberg. Father Steinhausel was the priest. The midwife was Katharina Raitmager from Wasser-suppen.At the time of his marriage, Andreas was a cottager in Haselberg #14. He was 21 1/2 and a Roman Catholic. Witnesses: Georg Reiner, a cottager in Grafenried # 9 and Petr Bintl, an inhabitant in Auger # 24. The priest who married them was Father P. Franz Palm. Andreas and Margaretha, along with sons George and Andreas, immigrated to the United States on the vessel SS Berlin from the port of Bremen. They arrived at the Baltimore, Maryland port on 2 May 1884. On May 31, 1884 at 11:00 A.M. Andreas signed the papers and paid $1000 cash for the North 1/2 of the Northeast 1/4 of section 32 in Cottonwood township. No doubt, the family knew someone in the area prior to arriving in Brown County. Liskovec (Haselberg), Krisova Lhota (Kreutzhutten) and Pila (Seeg): These ancestral villages were located in the area of the current Domazlice county. They were destroyed after the year 1945.
