BIOGRAPHIE: Helmuth Koenig, (HC), was a promenant business man in Marshfield. He owned a grocery store on Main Street until he sold it/traded it for Sparr Milling Company in 1921. His first wife's brother John Seubert also was in politics. This may be an influencing factor. Per Jim Schmitt, HC traded Mr. Sparr his grocery store for half of the Marshfield Milling Company.

Koenig" "Prominent Marshfield Business man dies Thanksgiving Morning" H.C.Koenig, 68, resident of mMarshfield for more than half a century, died at his home, 411S. Maple Street, at 9:30AM Thanksgiving Day. Mr. Koenig had been a prominent business man and city official here for many yeaars, and fo the past 13 years was head of the Marshfield Milling Company. His death which followed an illness of 8 months duration, was unexpected by his family who thought him to be improving in health. "Funeral Monday" Funeral services will be held here Monday at 9AM at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. H.P. Toeller will officiate at the rites and interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery. Born in Brillion, Wis, Calumet County, on April 1, 1866, Mr. Koenig came to Marshfield at the age of 17. Shortly after his arrival here he was employed by Volmar and Kraus in the Mercantile Business. For 30 years he owned a grocery store in the city. In 1894 he was Married to Theresa Seubert at St. John's Catholic Church. The ceremony was performed by Father John Eisen. She died in Jan. 1904, and on Feb 20, 1906, he was married to Francis Kohlbeck at the same church, with Father Eisen officiating. "Served as Clerk" At one time Mr. Koenig served as City Clerk for two terms. He was a trustee of St. John's Church for 12 years and secretary of Sacred Heart Church from 1915 - Jan 1934. He was a member of the U.C.T. St. Joseph's Society, St. Hubert's Society , Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and of the Elks.
