TOD: "OBIT" From Manitowoc Herald-Times Reporter 23 Feb 1962 Mrs. Mary Meidl, 80, a life-time Manitowoc County resident who lived at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bentley of Whitelaw the past 17 years, died at 3:30 am Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. She had been a patient there the past two months. Funeral services will be at 9:45 am Saturday at Pieffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at St Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Francis D. Rose will be celebrant of the solemn requiem high Mass. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Mrs Meidl was born Mary Zipperer on Feb 15 1882 in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late George and Frances Schuh Zipperer. She was married May 26 1903, at Whitelaw to Blasius Meidl. She was a member of Christian Mothers Society of St Michael Church, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Joseph and Rudolph of Whitelaw, six daughters, Mrs Ben Spevacek of Manitowoc, Mrs Frank Kaderabek of Branch, Mrs William Wedegartner of Manistique Mich, Mrs Robert Schindhelm of Appleton, Mrs Bernard Stiefvafer of Odessa Tex, Mrs Walter Bentley of Whitelaw; a sister, Miss Frances Zipperer of Manitowoc: 36 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death June 27 1944. A son Vincent, also preceded her in death. Friends may call after 3 pm Friday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 pm.
