Nelson was born in Tennessee and his father North Carolina and his mother in South Carolina according to census records. There is a record of a Asa Adams and Phereby Barfoot appling for a license to marry, but there is no record of a marriage date given on the court recording only that license was applied for on Feb 23, 1802 in Robeson County, North Carolina. no other information is listed on them there. I have sent for a death certificate on Nelson and when this is returned I will post it here.
