Kenneth W. Robbins passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007 at the age of 82. Kenneth was born in Bolivar Missouri to James and Laura Robbins on June 4, 1925; he was the youngest of six children. Rintha, Von, Curtis, Katherine and Virginia who died at age 1. Curtis waskilled 21 days after the D-day handing in France. Kenneth and family moved to Madera when he was four years old. His father worked for Roger Averill for many years, then the Madera County Road Department. Kenneth attended Arcola ElementarySchool and graduated from Madera High School in 1943. He entered the Army Air Force and graduated as a first officer at Randolph Army Airfield. He flew B-25 Bombers. He attended Tennessee Tech while in the Air Force, after the war he attended the first class at U.C. Davis under the G. I. Bill. Kenneth started out farming working with Ray Pool for a year, and then worked with The Farm Bureau as a secretary. He then worked for the Farm Labor Service Department of Employment. Hewas the youngest farm labor manager in the state for Riverside, San Bernardinoand Imperial County. He was appointed to the head office in Sacramento in 1968 and spent 8 years there then retired. He worked for a short time for Sunkist growers in Los Angeles. Kenneth spent time in Washington D.C. helping write the farmlabor bill. After retiring he worked several years in his own Ag spraying business.
Kenneth was active with his children while they were growing up, when the children were in 4H clubs; Kenneth was a 4H leader. He was an avid hunterand fisherman and he loved Antique cars.
