Delegation of 12, Some from This City, Make the Trip Over Bus Line WILLIAM SLAGLE HOST The third annual reunion of the descendents of Christ Slagle, a native ofUpper Yoder Township, was held last week at the home of Willian Slagle ofBrooklyn Avenue, Brooklyn, and proved to be a very enjoyable affair. Aparty of 12 from Pennsylvania, most of them sepuagenarians, made the tripto Brooklyn in a Greyhound bus. They were met at the Astor House byWilliam Slagle, the host, and his son, Howard Slagle, who piloted them bythe underground route to Brooklyn. The Pennsylvania delegation consisted of Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Slagle ofStoyestown; Mr. and Mrs. William Rodgers of Hooversville; Mr. and Mrs.Noah Slagle of Uniontown; Mrs. Caroline (Slagle) Lohr and grandsons,Eartl and Junior Craignes, of Wilkensberg and Mrs. and Mrs. Herbert J.Slagle and David H. Slagle, of Lower Yoder Township. The festivities began on the afternoon of the Fourth and continued untilSunday, when the local party returned home. Following the sumptiousdinner on the Fourth, a splendid firewoks display was by the clan in thevicinity of the Slagle residence. The Pennsylvanians were greeted by Mr.and Mrs, William Slagle and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Scanlan, Mr. andMrs. Harry Cuming, Mr. and Mrs. William Underwood and baby Jane, JamesSlagle and Lois Slagle. The following members of the clan unable to be present: Mrs. D. H.Slagle, Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Slagle, of Kentucky; Mr. and Mrs.H.L. Criisey, of Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Slagle , of Moxham;Harry Slagle, of Stoyestown and Mrs. Howard Slagle, of New York City. At the meeting of the clan no deaths since 1928 were reported, while babyJane Underwood, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. William Underwood, of New York,was enrolled as a new member. One marriage among the clan members wasreported. Twenty-five people were entertained for three days at theBrooklyn homeand a hearty vote of thanks was extended to both Mr. andMrs. Slagle for thir hospitality. The Pennsylvanian were shown about the"big city"on the 5th and were taken on boat trip to Coney Island thatnight. The ladies of the party did a great deal of shopping on themorning of the 6th, and they and the other Pennsylvanians left thatafternoon on their return over the bus line, arriving at Stoyestown earlySunday morning. These officers were elected until the next reunion to be held on theFourth, 1930, at the home of Noah Slagle, of Uniontown; President ,Albert A. Slagle; Secretary, Mrs. Herberet John Slagle; Treasure, Mrs.William Rodgers.
