CHALLIS.--Ford F. CHALLAS, 40, died Wednesday in Kansas City. He was born August 19, 1878, on a farm in Douglas county, Kan., and was educated in the Topeka public schools. Mr. Challis was a member of Ivanhoe Lodge of the A.F and A.M. of Kansas City, Mo., and was associated in business with T.J. Brown Fur Co. in Kansas City. He is survived by his wife, Florence Halterman Challis, and four children, Edna, 14, Ford, Jr., 11; Virginia, 9, and Juanita, 8; his mother, Mrs. O.C. Challis, two brothers, Alvah and Harvey Challis, and one sister, Mrs. Edna L. CROW. Fellow lodge members of the A.F.and A.M. No. 17 will conduct the services at the grave. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from Penwell's chapel. Burial in Topeka cemetery. (Note: Challis and Challas typed as printed in newspaper.)
