Carl F. Bailey Carl F. Bailey, age 87, of Danbury, husband of the late Evelyn Marie (Staib) Bailey, passed away peacefully at Bethel Health Care Center, Sunday, August 10, 2008. Carl was born in Danbury, January 25, 1921, son of the late James and Ethel (Raymond) Bailey. He attended Danbury schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Carl worked at the Barden Corporation in Danbury, for 33 years, prior to retirement in 1985. Carl enjoyed his prize winning chickens and was active in the Danbury Fair for many years as a security guard at the Big top. He is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Bailey and wife, Dawn and William Bailey, both of Missoula, MT, Glenn Bailey, of Danbury and Jason Bailey and wife, Michele, of New Milford; a daughter, Linda Bailey, of Danbury; a brother, Gene Bailey; and sister, Myrtle Bailey, of Danbury, a sister, Lucille Lewis, of Bethel; and five grandchildren, Aimee, Daniel, Mary, Alison and Natalie. He was predeceased by two broth ers, Donald and James Bailey. Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday evening at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be held privately. Friends may call at the Green funeral Home, on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. At the request of the family, contributions in the memory of Carl may be made to the Danbury Senior Center, c/o Susan Tomanio, Elmwood Hall, 10 Elmwood Place, Danbury, CT 06810.
