EHESCHLIESSUNG: Double Wedding Announcement - Louis Baumann and daughter Theresa Baumann - Marshield News Herald - from Diane Deci - March, 2000 St John's Catholic Church was packed to the doors Tuesday by relatives and friends who had gathered to witness the double ceremony of a father and daughter of one of Marshfield's respected families, namely, Mr Louis Baumann to Mrs Amelia Vogel and Miss Theresa Baumann to John J Kaiser, the latter a prosperous young business man from Stratford. The first to the altar were the elder couple who were attended by a son and daughter of the groom, Miss Rose and Phillip Baumann................. Immediately following the first ceremony, the more youthful and blushing couple took their place at the altar to receive the words that would forever bind their lives. ........ The bride was attended by Miss Theresa Kaiser, a sister of the groom, Louis Baumann, Jr, a brother of the bride assisting as groomsman. Both ceremonies were performed by Rev Folz, it being this good man's first experience in a priesthood of 32 years to perform a double marriage ceremony in which a father and a daughter occupied the place of bride and groom. Following the ceremony at the church, the wedding couples, together with relatives and intimate friends, returned to Mr Baumann's home where a wedding dinner was in waiting and where all sat down to a sumptuous repast. Mr and Mrs Baumann, amid the congratulations of friends and showers of rice, left on the afternoon Soo train for a week in Milwaukee and on their return will be at the home at the groom's residence and place of business, No. 101 North Central Avenue. Both Mr Baumann and his estimable bride are well known and highly respected citizens of this city who have a host of friends who join with the Herald extending hearty congratulations for a happy wedded life. It is understood the event will be duly celebrated upon their return by a gathering of old friends and neighbors. Mr and Mrs Kaiser left the city for La Crosse on the 4:20 afternoon train over the Omaha railroad. On their return they will go to housekeeping at Stratford where Mr Kaiser conducts a barbershop. Both Mr and Mrs Kaiser in their respective communities, enjoy the friendship and respect of all who know them. The bride is one of Marshfield's lovable young ladies whose life from childhood has been spent in this city and the man of her choice is the dutiful son of one of Stratfords respected families. They were remembered by friends with many handsome and useful wedding presents. On their return to Stratford, the groom will remember his Stratford friends by giving a wedding reception and dance in the opera house, which it is understood, will take place next Monday night.
